    Didn't need it, but...

    This was a splurge, but with a little trial & error, it made a huge difference.

    The funnel is too short to prevent overspill from my Niche grinder, so I use the funnel from Niche. Their funnel also has a lip that goes inside the basket, preventing grounds from going under. So, once I break up any clumps, I switch funnels & distribute/tamp.

    Works perfectly.

    My puck is always level & compressed the same amount (something previously unreliable.

    I now have consistently little or no channeling, the flow comes together faster, & my shots are more predictable.

    I'm glad I bought it.

    Awesomely massive

    This device masses 538 grams of superbly machined stainless steel and tiny magnets. The funnel fits the Mina's basket perfectly and the distribution/leveler is heavy enough to do the job without effort. Doesn't take much force to tamp, either. I have not figured out yet how to use the dosing cup and cover but they're cool. Expensive!

    Exceeds expectations

    It really makes a difference by ensuring consistency of preparation, and limiting the multiple variables that exist naturally to produce a great tasting espresso. Highly recommended.
