    Nice quality, but a little loose.

    This is the tamper that comes with the Cremina. It's lovely, but ... The diameter of the tamper is 48.9, whereas the diameter of the basket is almost 49.8. Does less than a milimeter make a real difference? It depends on how neurotic you are, I suppose. You can adapt to it, but it's not a snug fit. Rok espresso makes a tamper that's 49.7. And it's a much better fit.

    The good folks at Cerini

    The good folks at Cerini Coffee are the place to go for parts or accessories for Olympia espresso machines. I needed a 49mm tamper for the vintage Cremina I found on ebay and of course they had one. I would likely not have jumped into an e-bay auction for this machine, but I had confidence that even if there was a problem with machine I could always take it into Cerini and they would be able to trouble shoot it.
